A1Surf.com re-launched with a host of new features for the UK surfing community
A1Surf.com, the original website for the UK and Irish surfing community, has been recently re-launched with a brand new design and a whole-host of new features to help keep surfer informed and connected online.
As well as a fresh new design, there is now a range of new features for the surfer, including photo galleries, video galleries, forums and surf events pages.
The surf report and surf forecast pages have been improved, with a cleaner layout and presentation of the data.
Also the ‘surf classifieds’ section makes it even easier for users to advertise their secondhand boards, wetsuits, vans and other surf gear.
By registering as a member on A1Surf, which is free, users can then post their surf photos and videos, add secondhand items to sell and chat in the forums. Members can also contact other members via a Private Mail system, create profile pages for themselves and add members to contact lists.
David Somerville from A1Surf.com said: “Our surf report and surf forecasts still remain core to our site, but we’ve tweaked these to provide the core information our users want to see.
“And these can now be commented on as well, which meaning our users can help other surfers by providing a more up-to-date report if conditions change.
“By adding the other new features we know that not only will these benefit our users, but will also offer surf brands and related companies an even better route to targeting this key group of consumers.
“The new version of the site has only been live for a couple of weeks now, but we have already received a lot of positive feedback and hundreds of people have already registered as members.
“We’ve also seen a huge impact on our site traffic – people are reading more pages and spending more time on the site with every visit. And we’re recording a healthy level of new visitors too.”
A1Surf.com was originally launched in 2001 and acquired in 2008 by Friday Holdings Ltd, one of the UK’s largest digital and print publishers. They operate a range of general and specialist websites including Natives.co.uk and GONEboarding.co.uk.
