The first ever Brighton Big Balls Event takes place May 12th 2013
Brighton Big Balls will take place at 9am on Sunday morning May 12th on the beaches of Brighton & Hove.
So what’s the task?
Brighton Big Balls is a fun endurance race run over 3k…..on the pebble beach…and over all the stone groynes (or should be groins?)…whilst carrying two large red 14” balls each. Simple!
What’s the crack?
Have a laugh with your mates, raise some sponsorship money for Testicular, Penile and Prostate Cancer research but also raise awareness of these Male cancers.
Players from Brighton & Hove Albion have pledged their support as have the Sussex County Cricket clubs Sharks. There have even been a few jockeys spotted with their balls out training
Rules?
Not many! The numbers on the competitors’ balls will match their race number – To finish the event competitors must have both their own balls in hand. Imagine up to four hundred people = 800 balls all over the beach with people looking for the right numbered ball – and this is before they’ve even begun! Chaos? Never!
Prizes?
Balls on a ribbon for everyone or if you actually win – a very nice golden ball for their delight and fancy.
Ladies?
All lovely ladies are very welcome to enter and show their support by running alongside the proud men-folk and displaying their very own Big Balls in a lady-like manner. Special price for the Lady with the best moustache (real ones will not be counted)
Obstacles
There will be a few surprises in there…We do have a crack team of Ninja’s standing by on “Ninja-beach” who are armed with long poles with boxing gloves on the end to boost competitors balls beach-ward, Plus there is a oil hand dip – now carry those Balls!!! Gerard Maye Legal Ltd will also be hosting a water-balloon alley for competitors to run through where members of the public can purchase water-balloons to throw for charity - but please don't laugh as this is a serious race…
Sponsors?
Brighton Big Balls is proudly sponsored by The Montefiore Hospital, Brighton Racecourse, Gerard Maye Legal Ltd, body conditioning experts Bodi-fit and Chas Berger.
Local celebrity Norman Cook was first to sign up followed by local radio Juice FM presenters Jonno and Guy Lloyd. Places are limited this first year to just 400 entrants.
