The UK’s largest free watersports festival raises £20K despite the weather!

A huge thank you to all those that took part in this years’ mammoth Paddle! Despite the wind and rain doing its best to challenge all concerned, I’m proud to say that we raised approximately £20 thousand pounds for 3 very worthwhile charities.
Because of the obvious problems with the force 8 gale blowing at this years event, there will now be a “low-key” paddle on Saturday July 19th for those who wish to complete the paddle for 2008 (weather permitting!).
We will meet at the angel/peace statue at 5.30pm and make a quick but gentle float around the old West pier. There will also be a BBQ after at Brighton Sailing club (between the Piers) for anyone who would like to join us!
Please keep checking back to this website as we will be updating the galleries as and when we get hold of images from this years event. (please send any images you’d like to share to media@paddleroundthepier.com)
I must thank the paddle crew (& water safety teams) for all their hard work in the months leading up to the paddle and over the weekend – it really is a big team effort. We are always looking for more help so if you would like to join the merry paddle crew then please drop us an email to volunteers@paddleroundthepier.com
We should all express our gratitude to the Custom group for without their sponsorship (and support) the Paddle would never happen.
Finally heartfelt thanks go out to all the sponsors who have donated and supported us (which means you!) to make the paddle into what it is today. Remember to spend your hard earned cash with those businesses who support us and question the ones who don’t?
Join us again for the Paddle Round The Pier Beach Festival on July 4th & 5th 2009!
