The Paddle Round The Pier took place over the weekend of 4th & 5th of July 2009 in Brighton

Good weather and great sea conditions made this the best and biggest Paddle Round The Pier event ever!!
An amazing 23000 people passed through the paddle village. The money everyone so generously donated over the weekend is still being counted but it looks like a record breaking year where it is estimated £30 000 has been raised to be split evenly between Rockinghorse, the RNLI & Surfaid International.
It was an amazing spectacle as the largest contingent of paddlers ever head out to sea around the pier on the Sunday. Nearly everyone successfully completed the longest and most demanding paddle on all manner of craft including dinghies, blow-up whales and even a turtle on a surf board.
Thanks to absolutely everyone who took part, donated, supported the event and gave up their free time to make this weekend possible. Keep checking here for more reports of the Paddle 2009 and make a note in your for the 3rd & 4th July for the paddle 2010!!!
