Disco dancing, kid’s yoga and more family fun at Paddle Round The Pier
This year’s Paddle Round The Pier, sponsored by Feelfit, will feature a bigger and better Children’s Entertainment area, made possible with the help of Baby Loves Disco – the afternoon dance party for parents and children.
There is a whole host of entertainment on offer from local groups including: Academia Flamenca, Tatty Bumpkins (children's yoga), Popdance UK, Rox School of Dance and Drama, Stage Coach and the Southern Knights Colour Guard.
Also to keep children amused are bouncy castles and a Punch and Judy show.
Baby Loves Disco themselves will be running two 45 minute sessions per day (2pm and 3.30pm) which will consist of a great DJ playing classic disco to get the families dancing together, dance games and prizes.
Jess Neame, Baby Loves Disco Host for Brighton, said: "Baby Loves Disco is delighted to be sponsoring the children's area at Paddle Round the Pier 2009. We're all about kids and adults having fun together in a safe and entertaining environment - whether that be in a nightclub, park or on Hove Lawns. If the party can also raise funds for worthy causes then so much the better. We look forward to seeing you all paddling on the dance floor as well as in the sea."
The Paddle Round The Pier event is free to enter, but organisers are asking for a suggested donation, which will be divided between the three nominated charities.
The event is looking to raise in excess of £20,000 for this year’s charities – The RNLI, SurfAid International and local children’s charity, The Rockinghorse Appeal.
Around 20,000 surfers and other watersports users are expected to head to the event across the weekend.
Brighton Baby Loves Disco is dancing its way into 2009. After a hugely successful launch in autumn 2008 it's going from strength to strength. But then everyone knows how much Brighton loves to party... Baby Loves Disco is an afternoon dance party for little kids (6 months-7 years) and (especially) their parents: great DJ’s play a selection of disco classics guaranteed to get those little (and big) booties moving and grooving.
