NO SURFER ZONE
BY ORDER OF THE HARBOUR MASTER 13th June 2012

To ensure the safety of navigation for both surfers and vessel using Shoreham Port, Surfers are required to stay out of the area within the black box on the chartlet (left). This is due to the manoeuvring requirements of large vessels during varying conditions, and the low visibility of surfers.

BY ORDER OF THE HARBOUR MASTER 13th June 2012
Notes from Sharkbait: This has come about by a dangerous incident involving surfers recently crossing the harbour and a shipping vessel. The harbour master is within their rights to ban all surfing within the port vicinity but the zone above doesn't affect any of the usual surf spots but does mean we cannot paddle from spot to spot |
